A Deceptive CFO
By: Rick Boxx
February 10, 2012

For years a Chief Financial Officer lied to me. He convinced me that a competing bank was constantly giving his company better loan terms than my bank. Both banks wanted more loan business from this customer, so we kept dropping his interest rate trying to beat the competition.

Later, I went to work for the competing bank, only to discover that this same CFO had been lying to both banks. He received ridiculously low pricing based on lies. His lies came back to haunt him as we increased his pricing and made it clear that we no longer trusted anything he said.

Proverbs 19:5 teaches, “A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will not go free.”

Remember, winning in business doesn’t require lies and deceit.

This book details how to begin the process of being accountable to one another. It’s a practical tool for helping people who desire to have character and integrity. Purchase Character That Counts here.
