The Patient Pilot

A Southwest Airlines pilot, according to ABC News, learned that Mark Dickinson was about to miss the only flight that could get him to the bedside of his dying 2 year old grandson, before being pulled off of life support. The pilot remarkably held the plane 12 minutes.
Rather than being critical of their pilot for throwing off their on time numbers, Southwest Airlines publicly proclaimed their pride in his actions.
Proverbs 14:35 teaches, "The king's favor is toward a servant who acts wisely, but his anger is toward him who acts shamefully."
Although it comes with a cost at times, many more organizations would be well served to honor their employees with the freedom to do the right thing. Thank you Southwest Airlines for being a model to many.
