TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.” - (Romans 8:31–34 NLT)

THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

Lie: You can’t do anything right. You are a failure.

Truth: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13 NLT).

Lie: No one loves you.

Truth: “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, ‘For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.’) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35–39 NLT).

Lie: You are alone.

Truth: “He has said, “I WILL NEVER [under any circumstances] DESERT YOU [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], NOR WILL I FORSAKE or LET YOU DOWN or RELAX MY HOLD ON YOU [assuredly not]!’” (Hebrews 13:5 AMP).

Lie: You are worthless.

Truth: “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:13–16 NLT).

Lie: No one can help you.

Truth: “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble” (Psalm 46:1 NLT).

Lie: You have blown it now. God will never forgive you for that.

Truth: “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness” (1 John 1:9 NLT).

Lie: Your life is pointless.

Truth: “The LORD will work out his plans for my life—for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever” (Psalm 138:8 NLT).

Lie: You may as well give up. There is no hope.

Truth: “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!” (Psalm 42:11 NLT).

CONSIDER THIS . . .

When lies harass you, answer them with truth. Truth from God’s Word. Consider today’s scripture. If God is for you (and he is), who can be against you? God loves you so much he gave his only Son to die on the cross for your sins. If you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, don’t let the devil condemn you. Jesus is sitting at God’s right hand, pleading for you. You are covered in his righteousness. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate you from his love. No matter how bad circumstances may look, he is with you. He will help you. He is all you need.

If you have not yet received God’s gift of salvation, you can do that now. Do you believe Jesus is God’s Son and that he died on the cross and rose again the third day? Decide today to follow him. Just talk to him and receive his forgiveness. Your problems won’t vanish, but you will never again have to face them alone . . . and victory will come.

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. (Romans 5:8–11 NLT)

PRAYER

Lord, I have listened to the lies and accusations too long. Help me focus on you and the truth of your Word. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for your promise never to leave me. Thank you for your unconditional love. In Jesus’ name . . .
