Pas the Day - November 17, 2019

Let a man so consider us, as a servant of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. (1 Corinthians 4:1)

The apostle Paul uses the phrase, “under-rowers,” to paint a beautiful portrait of the role of the servant. In ancient times, under-rowers were those skillful, muscular oarsmen who propelled a ship through the azure waters of the Mediterranean. These servants were taking specific nautical directions from a captain on the deck of a ship. In other words, a servant is a person who serves under the commands of a superior. This is the incredible image of the pastor, who is an under-shepherd serving the matchless “Good Shepherd.”
