Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, . . . (Psalm 100:4)
As brief as it is, this psalm has the crack of the imperative about it. Seven times there are words of exhortation: shout, worship, come, know, enter, give thanks, and praise. Some of you would say, “I just don’t feel like shouting for joy.” But do you realize that the Word of God does not leave praise and worship of God up to the changing nature of your emotions? Thanksgiving is commanded. It is ordered. It is mandated. It is an imperative that we shout, worship, come, know, enter, give thanks, and praise.
In Living in the In-Between Times, Pastor Ralph Douglas West brings the story of the Old Testament prophet Samuel to life, showing you how God speaks in your “in betweens” and what it looks like to live faithfully in these seasons of waiting and wondering.
