Sarah Palin Endorses Trump for President

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has announced her official endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

According to Charisma News, Palin announced her endorsement of Trump in a speech in the state of Iowa, just two weeks before the Iowa caucus.

Palin took the national spotlight as a plain-speaking, down-to-earth “hockey mom” in 2008 when she joined Republican candidate John McCain as his vice-presidential running mate.

Palin spoke to the crowd about Trump’s qualifications for president, applauding the fact that he is not a career politician.

“He is from the private sector, not a politician," Palin said after joining the business mogul and former host of TV's "The Apprentice" onstage. "Can I get a hallelujah?”

Palin noted Trump’s position as an anti-establishment candidate and his ability to defeat the threat of the Islamic State.

“The status quo has got to go,” Palin said, applauding Trump’s disregard for political correctness.

Trump has stated that he was “greatly honored” by Palin’s endorsement. “She is a friend, and a high-quality person whom I have great respect for.”

When asked if they thought Palin’s endorsement will boost Trump’s campaign, people appeared divided.

One audience member in Iowa, June Heidn, said that Palin was “inspiring” and may help Trump earn the support of female voters.

Others thought that Trump was doing fine without the endorsement.

Joe Brettell, a Republican strategist, said that Palin’s endorsement likely would not be a major boost to Trump’s campaign “beyond a jolt in the news cycle.”
