Hamas-Claimed Terror Shooting Kills 3, Injures 6 Outside Jerusalem

At least three people were killed, and six were wounded Thursday morning following a terror shooting attack, later claimed by Hamas, at the entrance of Jerusalem.
According to the Guardian, the Shin Bet security agency identified the gunmen as Murad Namr, 38, and Ibrahim Namr, 30, and were confirmed by the intelligence service as members of Hamas. Both men were killed on the scene by off-duty soldiers as well as an armed civilian.
At the time, the men arrived in a car at about 7:40 am local time and opened fire before retreating to their vehicle, where police eventually killed them.
Later that day, Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. On the group’s Telegram account, a statement said that the attack was in retaliation “to the occupation’s crimes of killing children and women in Gaza.”
The victims were identified as Livia Dickmann, 26, Hanna Ifergan, who was in her sixties, and Elimelech Wasserman, a 72-year-old rabbinical judge. Although one report alleged that a 16-year-old girl was killed, the claim was later refuted.
Per The Times of Israel, Thursday’s incident follows a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which has entered its sixth day. It is considered to be the first major attack on Israel since Hamas attacked the Jewish state on Oct. 7, killing at least 1,200 people and taking 240 more hostage in the Gaza Strip.
The ceasefire was extended to one more day so that Hamas would release eight more hostages, CBN News reported. The terror group released 12 more hostages, including an American, on Wednesday. So far, about 159 hostages remain in Gaza, while the number of freed civilian hostages went from 97 — 73 Israelis and 24 foreign nationals, mainly consisting of Thai agricultural workers.
Several reports claimed that they have cruel treatment of the hostages. In one case, A Thai foreign worker testified that Hamas beat Israeli hostages with electric cables.
Meanwhile, the IDF is currently investigating a claim that Shiri Bibas and her two children, 10-month-old Kfir and 4-year-old Ariel, were killed after they were taken captive on Oct. 7.
