60,000 Pro-Lifers Participate in West Coast Walk for Life

Kelly Givens

Some 60,000 people lined the streets of San Francisco Saturday for the West Coast Walk for Life—a pro-life event aimed to demonstration opposition to abortion, reports LifeNews.com.

Attendees came from colleges, high schools and church congregations from around the country to walk down San Francisco’s Market Street. Despite ongoing opposition from the city’s government, the Walk has grown every year since its 2005 beginnings.

The Walk was first started by a group of San Franciscans to affirm the right to life from conception to natural death and particular to change hearts hurt by abortion. While most people who participate in the Walk are people of faith, the event is non-sectarian and non-denominational.
