Chip and Joanna Gaines Opening New Breakfast Restaurant

Chip and Joanna Gaines, of the popular TV show “Fixer Upper,” have announced that they are opening a new breakfast restaurant.

According to Delish.com, the couple just opened a bakery called Silos Baking Co. a few months ago, but now they are expanding their culinary endeavors.

The new restaurant will focus on the first meal of the day, which Chip says is the most important .

"I've always been a breakfast connoisseur," he told Southern Living. "I always do a heavy, bigger breakfast, but Jo is the exact opposite. She was kind enough to come with me on this one, and we are going to do up a breakfast joint here in town."

While Joanna’s project was the bakery, this new breakfast joint seems to be Chip’s passion.

The couple purchased the iconic Elite Cafe in Waco, Texas. The cafe, which sold burgers and steaks, has historical significance. Elvis even ate there.

The couple held an auction to sell some of the historic pieces in the restaurant. They gave the $51,000 they raised to Mission Waco’s Jubilee Food Market, a nonprofit grocery store set to open next month.

The restaurant is expected to open in summer 2017.
