Abortion Supporters 'Going for Guilt-by-association' in Colorado Shooting, Says Christian Commentator

Abortion supporters are “trying to claim the moral high ground” by claiming that pro-lifers are like the Colorado Springs shooter, Denny Burk, a professor at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said.
According to Burk, abortion supporters are trying to associate pro-lifers with the shooting, in which a man opened fire at a Planned Parenthood Clinic in Colorado Springs, killing three.
So far, a motive has not been released, but some have speculated that the shooter was anti-abortion.
“(Abortion supporters) can’t get the moral high ground through reason and persuasion, so they are going for guilt-by-association—even though the shooter’s motives are yet to be established and even though there’s no evidence of any connection to the pro-life movement and even though pro-life leaders everywhere have denounced the shooting,” Burk writes in a column on his site.
In light of the shooting, some have also argued that “Christian terrorism” is on the rise.
“Though the abortion debate is a matter of life and death for hundreds of thousands of innocent children a year, since 9/11 exactly one abortion provider has been murdered, and two clinics have been bombed,” said David French, of the National Review.
“That’s hardly a crime wave, and it’s hardly grounds for liberal commentators such as Patheos’s Dan Arel to declare “Christian terrorism is a bigger threat to U.S. freedom than Islamic terrorism.”
French said the leftist arguments that Christian terrorism is responsible for more and more violence is a “lie.”
“America doesn’t have a problem with Christian terrorism or with eco-terrorism. True homegrown extremists are but the smallest blip on our criminal-justice system’s radar,” he said.
