Power Walking
by Berni Dymet

Matt. 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, "For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible."

Power walking is all the rage these days - put on the runners and power walk your way to health.  Good stuff.  But it's not a new idea.

Interesting - Jesus sent the twelve disciples out on a power walk - two by two into the surrounding villages and towns - to tell people about Him.  They went by foot - they weren't allowed to take anything with them - no food, no money, no clothing.

But Jesus gave them something better than that.  He gave them His power - the power to cast out demons.  The power to heal people.  The power to speak His words into their hearts.  It was very much - a power walk!

So often when He's called me to do something that's way beyond my own abilities - the bit that I forget - is that with His call comes His power.  In fact, looking back on it - He's never asked me to do anything without giving me with the wherewithal to do it.

I think it maybe a Jesus thing.
