I Chr. 20:15 He said, "Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not fear or be dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours but God's.

The other day I saw one of those small white fluffy dogs on the end of a leash.  Now what caught my eye was that this little fur ball of a dog was walking a bit strangely.  That's because it was missing a leg - so it was kind of hobbling along - on three legs.

I thought to myself - I wonder if the dog's name is Eileen.

Anyway, I think sometimes, we all feel a bit like Eileen.  We look at other people and they're doing so well.  And then we look at ourselves, and we compare and we think - you know, God could never use me.  I could never do what they can do.

I was recently asked to speak at a conference in the UK - and the theme of the conference is around different Bible characters.  So I chose Moses, Abraham, Joseph and David.  And as I began to prepare my messages - you know what I discovered?  This who's who of the Bible - the "A" list if you like - well, they all looked an awful lot like…Eileen.
