Never Smile at a Crocodile

by Berni Dymet

Psalm 91:14 Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name.

I recently had a holiday in tropical north Queensland. You know, it was warm and sunny and there were palm trees and beaches, it was great.

My wife Jacqui and I went for a walk along the beach at sunset. Now we kind of knew that there were crocodiles in this area…..but I had this cavalier attitude - it's a tourist beach. There'd be signs if there were crocodiles.

Nevertheless, we did feel a little nervous. The next day we were told by a local that crocodiles regularly frequented that beach.

Actually, there are a lot of hidden crocks on the highways and bi-ways of life. Every day. And we can spend our days being afraid to live life to the full. Now look, I'm not in the business of tempting fate. But I'll tell you something - when there are things I can't control, I take God at His word.

And this is what He says, "Because you love me I will rescue you, I will protect you when you acknowledge my Name."

It's simple. It works.
