His Steadfast Love
by Berni Dymet

Lam. 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

When you look at a house, you have no idea what lies underneath.  If the foundations are strong - then the house will stand.  But if they're not, then the house will fall.

Now - foundations aren't exactly the most glamorous part of the house - if you've ever built a house, you'll know that.  And when the house is built, you can't even see them.  But unless they're solid - well you know the rest…

Over and over again, the Bible speaks about God's steadfast love.  It's an odd combination when you think about it - because we think of love as a feeling: warm, and soft, and fluffy, and romantic.  Steadfast just doesn't seem to fit.

And yet - for me - it's like the foundation of my life.  Whatever life I live, whatever is on the outside - the things you can see - depends on that rock solid, always there, never failing, steadfast love.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.  His mercies never come to an end.  They're new every morning, new every morning.  Great is his faithfulness.
