Burning Enthusiasm
by Berni Dymet

Acts 18:25 He [Apollos] had been instructed in the Way of the Lord; and he spoke with burning enthusiasm and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John.

I try not to get annoyed. Really I do. But if there's one thing I don't understand it's people who believe in Jesus - and yet there's no enthusiasm or passion there.

Have you ever seen a husband and wife sitting in a restaurant having dinner - totally bored with one another?  It's a sad portrait of a marriage gone cold.

And that's exactly what some people's relationship with God is like.

And that's why I love Apollos. In the book of Acts, chapter 18, verse 25 it says that he spoke with burning enthusiasm.

At first, I had that burning enthusiasm for Jesus, but … it began to wane. Until one day I read about Apollos and I decided whatever happens - I was going to live my life for Jesus like that - with burning enthusiasm.

And God took that and wrote that Word of His on my heart - and that's how it's been for me ever since; a burning enthusiasm in my heart. Thank you Jesus!
