Being - Abiding Above - January 14

  • 2020 Jan 14

January 14

My friend Larry and I were going to lunch. On the way into the restaurant, he stopped me and said, “Chris, look at this huge Bee!” Then he asked me this question, “What is the bee doing?”

Well, it was obvious to me, he was collecting pollen, but my friend said, “He’s doing what God created him to do, he is simply being a bee.”

Oh, what a different world we would live in today if only Christians would simply be who they are in Christ.

What does this mean? When you became a child of God the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 5:17“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

My friend, you have been born again, God sees you now, in Christ, and the Holy Spirit is in you.  You are right now and forever a new creation.

What does God require of you now? Simply be, who you now are, in Christ. How?

Visualize, I have been placed in Christ because I have been crucified with Christ. Therefore, I am now and forever fully accepted by God the Father and completely secure because I am in Him. I’m not a sports star or an entertainer that is admired by the world I am someone far greater. I am in Christ and He lives in me.  This is my significance.

Sadly, as Christians, we do not see this anymore. It has been lost in all of our busyness trying to be who we are in Christ by what we do instead of simply being who we are in Christ! Now, with this firmly planted in your mind, take a deep breathe, and simply begin to rest in this absolute and eternal truth.
