Thanksliving-Part 4

January 26, 2015

When you choose to say, “You know, I am going to get around to some Bible reading and prayer one of these days.” My friend, when you reject light you’re denying truth. You’re denying the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Meditate on this quote from William McDonald, “Those who don’t want to see lose the capacity to see.” Think about that!  If you’re having a hard time motivating yourself to spend time alone with God, to spend time in His Word, to choose 24/7 to walk along by His Holy Spirit, my friend, you are loosing your capacity for these things and whatever you are focusing on is gaining more capacity within you. How many times have I been by the bedside of someone who finds out that they have several months to live and they try real hard, real quickly to get near God, to get intimate with God before they die? I want to tell you this is the most frustrating thing for them to experience and it is the most frustrating thing for me to watch. They are just frantic trying to get close to God and trying to read their Bible more and it is a fruitless effort most of the time. Their motive is wrong, and so not to live a Thanksliving life is to be darkened in your mind and to not even know it.
