How To Pray-Part 2

June 2, 2015

Think about communication with your heavenly Father.  What does God and the Bible say about how to pray? Jesus said, Matthew 6:9“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”

This is the Son of God praying to the Father in heaven. You and I are to pray the same way, we pray to God the Father. There is no evidence in scripture that we are to pray to a saint who’s gone on before us in heaven. There is no place in scripture that says that we are to pray to the mother of Jesus, Mary. You cannot find this anywhere in the scriptures. There’s only person that we pray to, we pray to God the Father in heaven, not to Mary, not to Peter, not to the apostles, and certainly not to any Pope that has gone on before us. The only one who hears and is able to answer our prayers is our Father who is in heaven.
