Starting Over With God-Part 10

March 14, 2014

Hebrews 12:3 “For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.”

Have you become weary and discouraged in your soul? You need to stop and remember that what you are experiencing is absolutely nothing compared to what the Lord Jesus Christ experienced. Do you often grow weary and find yourself loosing heart? You can know that spiritually, the Holy Spirit continuously refreshes us.  Let us consider this acrostic…HALT.

H – is for hungry – we must stop and eat when we are hungry
A – is for anger – when we feel angry inside we need to stop and deal with it right now
L – is for lonely – when we feel lonely, we must stop and deal with it
T – is for tired – when you are tired, lay down and get the rest you need

You must remember to HALT, when you become weary and discouraged in the Christian life. Bertha Smith, a missionary from China gave this godly advice, when you find yourself tired, complacent, just worn out, and you think you cannot go anymore, she said, “go back to those first things.”

Learn to lay everything else aside, and refresh and renew your fellowship and communion with God once again.
