He Knows - Monday, August 5th 2019

23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. 24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, 25 and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.
NKJV

We have all been burned in relationships in some form, whether it was family, friend, boss, co-worker or a spouse. We commit ourselves to someone only to have them betray a trust or forsake us in some way. The amazing thing we see in Jesus here is that He didn't trust the people. He knew what was really going on inside of them.

Jeremiah 17:9-10
9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.
NKJV

It's true for us also. Everything is laid open before the eyes of the One to whom we must give an account (see Hebrews 4:13). Every mixed motive that creeps into our heart the Lord is able to see. The good news for us is that even though Jesus sees that sin, that wickedness, those failures in our heart and life, He is willing to continually express the full measure of His love towards us. Jesus is wholeheartedly pouring out His Spirit and His love into our lives so He might conform us into His image.

That trial in your life, that tension in your relationship, that temptation that seems to overthrow you is ultimately meant to deepen your trust, not in other people, not in some esoteric human method, but that your trust may fully rest upon Jesus alone in all things.

Life Lesson: In spite of knowing us God is willing to show love to us and forgive us.

Lord,
I thank you that You know everything about me and still love me. I also Thank You that Your love for me desires to lead me along the paths of everlasting and abundant life that You have planned for me. Please forgive me when I deviate from allowing Your love to pour into my life. May You always have priority in me and over me in all things. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
