The Path to Heaven - Friday, February 27th 2015
"I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago--whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third heaven."
While there may be some debate on these verses in 2 Corinthians 12, in some Jewish writings, the third heaven is referred to as the abode of God. The first heaven is simply the skies, the clouds around earth or the atmosphere. The second heaven is the stars, the moon, and the sun in the universe. The third heaven is the spiritual and very real place that we usually refer to as Heaven, the abode of God.
Since Heaven does exist, the question remains, "How do I get there?" Friend, this Heaven cannot be reached by a spaceship or other technology. The abode of God can only be reached through the person of Jesus Christ. It is through His loving sacrifice on the cross that we can be in right standing with God to enter into this most glorious place. To close, I must ask one more question, "Are you going to Heaven?" If you are unsure, then I encourage you to pray the prayer below, confessing your sin to God and trusting in Jesus' death and resurrection for your salvation. There is only one way to Heaven, and it is through our faith in the One who created it.
Life Lesson: Humanity can only get to Heaven by Jesus.
I believe You died for me so that I could be forgiven. I believe You were raised from the dead so that I could have new life. I know I have done wrong things, and I'm sorry. Please forgive me and give me the power to follow You all the days of my life. Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
