The Ultimate Price - Friday, June 14th 2013
1 Peter 1:17-19
"And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."
We can often evaluate the worth of an item based upon the price someone is willing to pay for it. We see this often in the realm of antiques and collectables. An old, faded painting may not have any intrinsic value and yet if it is a picture of a loved one, it becomes priceless in the eyes of the beholder. When we look at our lives, we do not see much worth because of our sin and frailty, yet the God of all creation says that He loves us. In fact, He loves us so much that He was willing to pay for us, not with money, but with the life of His perfect Son, Jesus Christ.
There is no greater exchange. Understanding this, we can be filled with joy knowing that we are highly valued by God Himself. He paid the ultimate price so that we can be free and live with Him forever. He did this because He loves us. Now the question is, since such a high cost was paid for me... am I willing to lay down my life for Him?
Life Lesson: We have been redeemed at the highest price, so let's live for our Redeemer!
Thank You for paying the ultimate price for me. I am so thankful for Jesus and all He has done on my behalf. Give me the power to live a life dedicated to You because You are worthy of everything I have. I love You and want so much to live for You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
