Whose stuff is it anyway?
Diana Kerr

What are you going to do with your money when you die? Unless you’re an Egyptian pharaoh, you probably aren’t planning to take it with you. So who’s going to get that money?

“Who cares?”people think. “It’s no good to me anymore.” We value money and possessions so highly until we’re gone and they can no longer personally benefit us.

Perhaps Christians should put a bit more thought into the matter. Establishing a will can ensure that the money God has entrusted to us will go to good use even after our death. The Bible has a lot to say about wealth and material blessings, and it’s clear that God thinks they are his, not ours. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1).When we examine our hearts and refocus our mind-set so that we view ourselves as stewards rather than owners, it’s easy to see the responsibility and opportunity that lies in the blessings God provides.

What to do now? Pray that God transforms your heart and mind so you truly embody what it means to be a steward. Think about setting up a will. Find Christian friends you can mutually encourage to live generously. And think outside the box—God doesn’t just want your money. He’s entrusted you with all sorts of other blessings—your brain, your home, your time, your possessions, your health

And he expects you’ll use them to his glory.
