A short tour through my house reveals how carefree life is for me.
Pretreated fabrics on my living room furniture resist stains without me worrying about it. Prewashed jeans allow me comfort and style without 16 cycles of washing and drying. Preseasoned pork tenderloin means no messy marinades. Preprogrammed apps think for me.
Except, somehow I manage to mess up some of this stuff. It’s called “operator error.”
There is one aspect of life that Christians can’t mess up: following God’s purpose for us. Succeeding in the role that God has for you today is preapproved by God himself.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” (Jeremiah 1:5). That was God’s promise to Jeremiah, a man he called to the role of prophet, and that is also God’s promise to you for whatever role he has for you.
God set his own Son apart and called him to be your Savior. God has also set you apart, given you his approval, and gifted you with the ability to obey his purpose for you. Your “operator error” is corrected by his perfect grace.
Face your responsibilities and relationships with confidence today. “Your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
God designed you for more than you can imagine. And he gifted you uniquely to fulfill his incredible calling! Find out what your spiritual gifts are with the tools in Gifted for More by Dr. Bruce Becker.
