Who or what do you worship?

The things of the world don’t have your best interest at heart.

Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant sacrificial offering to God (Ephesians 5:1, 2).

I learned very early in ministry this truth…
What or who you worship will ultimately control you.
Think about it. The things or people that you bow to as important and meaningful shape the way you think, feel and act.
And sometimes you discover that those things or people don’t have your best interest at heart.
Only Jesus does. He is the one who loves you and gave himself for you.
He is the one who alone is worthy of your worship.
The world will tell you a different story. And many people will do their best to win you over. The Galatians were faced with this. Paul gave this warning for their protection.
“Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may have zeal for them” (Galatians 4:7).
The world will offer you anything and everything to win your heart, but as Paul said, for not good.
Your heart belongs to the Lord. Bow to him in faith and trust his love to shape the way you think, feel and act.
This is the only way to experience life to the full.

Don’t let the things of the world take your focus off of Jesus. It is his love and his work in your life that presents a fragrant offering to God. You can trust his love to shape the way you think, feel and act. He is on your side.

In Him,

Bob Christopher
