Financial Wisdom: The Right View
Financial consultant Ronald Blue writes: "People wrestle with two primary fears: the fear of failure and the fear of the future. . . . The world is glutted with fearful analysts, worried politicians, anxious officials, and countless individuals who are scared about all sorts of things -- especially about the future!
"We cannot hide our heads in the sand. Refusing to see or acknowledge our fear will not make it go away; in fact, left to fester on its own, it will probably grow to new and more frightening proportions. We must admit that we are afraid–and then move on to tackle our fear."
Fear is a primary reason people avoid taking control of their finances. Many believe by addressing their financial situation, they will ultimately lose control of their money. Actually, the opposite is true. Getting our finances under control leads to a greater sense of freedom and peace.
When we act unwisely by accumulating large amounts of debt, we actually yield control of what God has entrusted to us. Creditors and loan agencies become our masters as we struggle to pay back the debt we have borrowed. (Proverbs 22:7)
Be committed to becoming a wise steward of God’s money in 2005 so that you may enjoy the goodness of His blessings. With His help you can become financially free!
