Time for Others
By Rick Boxx
December 7, 2011

In many ways, Larry Burkett, the deceased co-founder of Crown Ministries, had a profound impact on my life. One practice Larry implemented in his schedule was blocking time each day for those unexpected needs of others.

I benefited once from Larry’s unscheduled time while visiting the offices of Crown. At the time my wife was battling cancer. Larry took time to listen to my story and then he generously gave me stacks of cancer research and information.

Ecclesiastes 3:17 teaches, “God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.”

Workplace schedules are intense, but generosity is more than money. It includes making time for helping others, as well as finishing our tasks.
