Caring for the Flock

As I was leading a group through our FIRE in the Workplace study we discussed being a “shepherd” to the people God has placed under our authority. One participant shared that this was a whole new paradigm for him.
“I’ve always been taught that the staff was there for my benefit” he said. “This really challenges me to consider that I am called to be their protector and to care for them.”
Ezekiel 34:2 says, “Thus says the Lord GOD, “Woe, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock? You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat sheep without feeding the flock.”
God calls leaders to care for their flock. What kind of shepherd are you?
