Discrimination in the Workplace

According to a Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey, 84% of women say men are paid more for similar work. Research referenced in The Wall Street Journal affirms this is often true.

Although women have different roles and responsibilities than men in the Bible, Jesus modeled showing women respect and dignity, while the culture in Jesus’ day showed little respect for women and gave them very few rights.

The leaders of Jesus’ day were apalled to see how many women traveled with Jesus and the disciples, and how well they were treated. It seems, docking someone’s pay due to their gender would have dismayed Jesus.

Proverbs 20:10 teaches, “Differing weights and differing measures, Both of them are abominable to the LORD.”

Does your organization provide equal pay for equal work?
