“Behold I am setting a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore.” (Amos 7:8)
This vision of the plumb line indicates that God has taken the final measure upon the Israelites and will no longer withhold judgment. Until then, God had never told anyone to ever stop from interceding for Israel. But now He says that the hidden ministry of intercession must cease. It’s interesting to recognize that Israel, as a nation, lasted 200 years. In our day, God has graciously given us more time than that to repent. Let us hope that He will not tell the American church to stop interceding for our nation.
