2 Timothy 4 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom...
The final part of 2 Timothy 4 shows that Paul didn't always have a human support system--which had to be difficult with his circumstances. Even so, we don't see a depressed, downtrodden Paul. Why? Because he knows the Lord is with him and that God is in control, and that knowledge encourages and sustains him.
"The Lord stood by me and strengthened me... The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom" (verses 17-18).
What encouragement did you draw from this chapter? What do verses 17 and 18 reveal about God and His love and care for us? Tami
