"Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith."
Because salvation is not something we can earn or merit, we cannot brag about it. Salvation is a gift we do not deserve. It is not a reward for our 'innate goodness'.
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." NKJV
Friend, do not have spiritual pride about your salvation. Forgiveness does not give you the right to look down on anyone else. Jesus is the One who saved you because you were the one that needed to be saved. A drowning man rescued from an ocean does not brag about how well he was drowning; rather he thanks his rescuer. Sometimes as Christians, we can get aloof and condescending because of our salvation. We act as if we have climbed on some ladder of importance. God loves everyone, and He wants everyone to be saved from the wages of their sins. Friend, thank Your Savior Jesus and tell others about Him.
Life Lesson: We should not have spiritual pride or brag about being forgiven.
Thank You for loving me. Thank You for saving me from my sins even though I do not deserve it. Thank You that it is a gift and not something earned. Please forgive me if I have become prideful or boastful and give me opportunity to tell others about You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
