. . . a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1b)
When God asks for this holy sacrifice, He is expecting one who has been initially cleansed by the blood of Christ and then cleansed by the daily application of His Word. To the apostle, the word “acceptable” would be associated with what is known as the ascending offering. Whether seen or unseen to the public eye, the sacrifice had to be pleasing. Similarly, as His followers, we must please God in private and public life at all times, if our surrender is to be considered real and sincere.
