Peace in the Storm

today's reading.
Mark 4:35-411 Peter 5:7 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, "Let us go across to the other side"...

the blog.
Even when we're doing what God has asked us to do, storms can come. That's the scenario we see today in Mark 4:35-41. The disciples are taking Jesus across the sea of Galilee, as Jesus has requested, and then a violent storm comes up which threatens to capsize the boat. The disciples are scared, frantic. They're freaking out, and no matter what they do they can't fix the situation. (I've been there--not in a boat, but in my own crisis. What about you?) But then they go to Jesus who instantly handles the situation. He "rebuked the wind and said to the sea, 'Peace! Be still!' And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm" (Mark 4: 39).

What did Mark 4:35-41 show you about storms coming into your life? What did you learn about navigating through difficult situations? How will you respond the next time a storm moves in? Tami
